By creating an account or using Falutin Films (“the platform”), you agree to these terms.
What Falutin Films Is
Falutin Films is a ticketing platform for film society screenings. It uses an internal points system called “falutes” to allocate tickets, which may be obtained through account signup grants, admin allocation, or (when enabled) purchase via M-Pesa.
Falutes Are Not Currency
Falutes have no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, transferred outside the platform, or redeemed for money. They exist solely to allocate access to screenings within Falutin Films. Falutes never expire.
Accounts
- One account per person. Attempting to create multiple accounts to circumvent per-account limits (such as the one-ticket-per-auction rule) is prohibited and may result in account suspension.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
Tickets and Bookings
- Face-price tickets: purchased directly with falutes at a fixed price per screening.
- Auction tickets: won by bidding falutes in a pay-as-bid auction for a limited number of seats per screening. Winning bids are deducted at the amount bid; losing bids are returned in full.
- Auction tickets are non-transferable and tied to the name on the account that won them.
- If you do not attend a screening for which you hold a ticket, the falutes spent are forfeited and are not returned, except where a partial rebate is explicitly offered for scanning in before a stated cutoff time.
Auctions
- Bids may be raised at any time before an auction closes, subject to your available wallet balance.
- Bids may be withdrawn only while not currently winning (below the line); once your bid places you in a winning position, it cannot be withdrawn, though it may be converted to a face-price purchase where that option is offered.
- Auctions close at a fixed time with no extensions for late bids.
Code of Conduct
You agree to attend screenings in good faith and not to abuse the falutes system, the auction mechanism, or the door check-in process. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the platform.
Changes to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the platform, including falute allocation rules, auction mechanics, and screening schedules, at any time.
Limitation of Liability
Falutin Films is provided as-is. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
